Another pandemic-delayed wedding finally took place in 2022, with Jessica and Brandon’s beautiful Deer Creek wedding in Ajax.
A few things made this Deer Creek wedding unique:
- Jessica and Brandon exchanged their vows privately, after the ceremony, so they could be truly present and cherish their wedding day with only each other (and me, photographing at a respectable distance away).
- A super small wedding party, with just one groomsmen and one bridesmaid.
- A second set of formal photos we made during dinner, when the sun was lower in the sky. One major challenge with wedding photography at golf courses is that they don’t often have significant shade or trees, which means making photos mid-day is uncomfortably hot and can also lead to a lot of harsh shadows and squinting. By ducking our during dinner hour, we were able to capture more photos with better lighting, and at a more mild temperature for everyone. I strongly recommend this if you can squeeze it into your wedding day!
- Donuts!
- Foam LED “glow” sticks for the dance floor. Is this a wedding trend now? Can we make it one? They’re so fun!
