Meet Adrian and Nilou! After working with Adrian for many years and subsequently photographing Nilou’s brother’s wedding, it was only natural that when these two got engaged, I was called to duty once again. Adrian and Nilou thought that some High Park engagement photos were the way to go and I couldn’t disagree. In fact, that staircase you see in the first photo is where Adrian popped the question!
All the rainfall in Toronto this year has been bittersweet. It’s meant lots of cancellations of photo shoots — Adrian and Nilou got rained out more times than I can count — but it’s also been beneficial for all our greenery. High Park in particular is extra green and lush this year, which comes across in the photos. For these particular High Park engagement photos, we had to move quickly as the sun disappeared when we first arrived on site and the raindrops started falling the moment we finished! We got lucky! (Though it did make for a soggy walk back to the parking lot.)
Just like many other couples, Adrian and Nilou were concerned about being in front of the camera for the first time. But with a little direction, some posing help, and their natural rapport, getting great shots of them was a piece of cake. Here’s to Adrian and Nilou! I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding in a few weeks.
